CORE FOR MOMMIES

During pregnancy, there’s so much pressure put on the belly that the muscles in front move aside to make space for your baby. Diastasis recti is a condition that means your belly sticks out because the space between your left and right belly muscles has widened. Some muscles heal on their own after pregnancy, but others don’t – and as a result, the uterus, bowels, and other organs have only a thin band of connective tissue in front to hold them in place. This can lead to urine leaking, constipation, lower back pain, and that annoying belly pooch.

In this class, we’ll determine whether you have a DR and then work to heal it through exercises that won’t aggravate the condition. Those without DRs are welcome, too: you’ll work through a series of exercises that include options for everyone from beginners to advanced athletes.

Core for Mommies is currently offered Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at 11 AM.

CORE II

This class offers a more advanced platform to strengthen all the core muscles, including the glutes and back. Options for modifications and progressions will be given so that athletes of all abilities are welcome!

Core II is currently offered Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at 12 PM.

P90X LIVE! CLASSES

p90x-live-logoP90X Live! Classes are offered by Beachbody Live certified instructors at a few of the area’s gyms to create a strong community of friendly competition, encouragement, and personal fitness breakthroughs. It’s a total-body strength and cardio class, complete with segments for upper body, lower body, core, and cardio work. Classes can be tailored to your needs (by subtracting certain segments) and schedule and run 30, 45, or 60 minutes in length.

For those who want to try out the format in a private, outdoor setting, classes can be scheduled as often as you’d like, either as a solo participant or with your BFFs! My classes typically run at the 60 minute level, and I do not recommend attending over three classes per week since you’ll need time to recover between classes.

If you would like to take a class within your own home, that can be arranged, too. Prices will depend upon the location of your home and number of participants.

P90X Live! is currently offered Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 1 PM.
